Tagged

I guess it's my turn on this tag, it was bound to happen at some point.

3 things on my list of things to do today:
1. Figure out where to park for the concert tomorrow
2. Write out a detailed schedule with pictures and make sure absolutely everything is ready and easily accessible for Tom's day with B tomorrow - he'll have her ALL day while Tina and I are at the concert!
3. Wash B's clothes, asking Tom to do it may be pushing my luck
3 snacks I enjoy:
1. Chocolate
2. Dried mangoes
3. Pringles Select Jalapeno & Ranch chips
3 places I've lived:
1. Missouri
2. Texas
3. France
3 things people don't know about me:
1. I'm the one that taped the hot pink granny panties to Steve's truck at Alta
2. I once made out with 3 guys in the span of 7 days (sophomore year at college was a good year...)
3. I was a total brat growing up and thought my younger siblings were my own personal slaves

I tag Becca, Shaina, Shannon & Janelle (Nelly belly you haven't posted anything in a long time.....)

SEDONA

We drove up to Sedona for the holiday weekend to do some climbing and hiking. The weather was a little too wet to do any climbing, so we just explored the resort town and hiked the next day. Tom's family drove down from SLC to hang out, really just to see the baby. You know how it is, once you have kids, no one really comes to see you anymore, they really come to see the baby. It's okay, I've accepted this and welcome it cause that means more time for me to read or run errands or do anything baby free! Anyways, back to Sedona.

This is Hailey, Matt, Tom & I about to hike up Bell Rock. We made it to the top of the center peak.

This was the hardest part of the hike. It's smooth enough to just scramble up, but that also means it's smooth enough to just slide right back down! The little "path" where it's lighter cause water probably drains down that way is the way we went up.

You can tell how high it really was from a distance. The other pictures make it look like we didn't really go that high at all. We didn't climb ALL the way to the top, but we made it most of the way. To go higher would have been pushing our luck.

At Slide Rock

This is her "What the crap? I thought we left this cold weather behind!!" look

She wasn't willing to get totally wet (the water was freezing) but she played in this shallow puddle for a little bit.

Cold water!

First Trip to the Pool

Last week Brighton and I went to the Hampton pool to swim with Tina and the kids. Brighton loves her baths, but wasn't too keen on the cool water. She loved it after a few minutes though! Thanks Tina for taking the pictures!

Does my husband fly the enemy?

Did anyone ever notice that the nemesis of the Little Einsteins is a jet? And not just any jet, he looks a lot like a Thunderbirds jet. Big Jet is noisy, he steals, he tears music apart, he's sneaky! All bad things! What are they trying to say?

Grandma Nelson

I just realized that I hadn't posted any pictures from when Grandma Nelson came to visit.

So Close

She's thinking about the whole crawling thing!

Not So Much Fun

Yesterday we went to the doctor and all was going well - we didn't have to wait forever, they had our records on hand, the doc wasn't running late, there weren't any disgustingly sick kids in the waiting room wiping their snot on Brighton, it was all good. And then it just went downhill from there. First, I'm slightly embarrassed because B has a poopy diaper that I didn't notice until the tech went to get her diaper off to check her weight. Then, we're sitting in the room and I'm talking to the doc and B drops her rattle, so I lean forward to get it, causing her to bump her head on the counter. So now she's screaming while the doc is trying to poke and prod her - fun! I finally get here to calm down, and we have to go get shots! Now she's screaming again, but luckily I had a bottle ready, so the cries from the shots only lasted 20 seconds. She's not crying, but her face is all red, tears streaming down her face, and the fun still isn't over! The doc wanted B to have her hips x-rayed - she said her legs don't line up perfectly and wanted to x-ray them to make sure it's not something serious (we got the results today, her hips are fine, no big deal), so now we have to go back to the main clinic, wait in another waiting room, and when we get in the room I have to hold her legs down so that she lays perfectly still. B didn't cry and it only took a second, but she definitely wasn't enjoying herself. We finally get to leave the doc and head home for an afternoon of laziness to recoup. Oh, did I mention on top of all this that she's teething? Luckily today she seems back to her happy, smiling self - thank goodness!

DDD

One of my favorite shows on Food Network is Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. The host, Guy Fieri goes across the nation to local joints that you would probably just drive right by. He hasn't done any in Utah yet, but he's done three in Oklahoma (Leo's BBQ in OKC, The Rock Cafe in Stroud, and Clanton's Cafe in Vinita) and a couple in KC (Grinders and 39th Street Mama's) and some in Texas. We've tried one that he went to here in Phoenix - Chino Bandido - a Chinese/Mexican restaurant and it was great!! We just watched another show that did a breakfast joint here and we're going to try to go sometime soon to try it out. If he's been to a place in your area, I highly recommend going there and trying it!

Green beans

Apparently we have an aversion to green beans!
