Brighton's been walking for awhile now - if you hold her hands. But yesterday she started walking on her own, without coaxing. She still only goes about 3 steps before she sits down, but I'm sure she'll get more daring as the week goes on.
Brighton likes to help Mommy bake cookies. We were baking cookies for Uncle Josh whose birthday was on Sunday (I know, I'm running a little behind).

List 6 quirks and tag 6 friends
1. When I scrapbook, I always scrapbook an even amount of pages. If there are only 2 pictures of an event, I will stretch it out so they cover two pages so everything's even.
2. Other things have to be even too - my last squadron gave each of the wives coffee mugs with our emblem on them and I asked if I could have 2 so that I had a pair, not just one.
3. When going out to dinner, no one can order the same thing. You can't try different stuff if everyone gets the same plate.
4. Rarely can I do anything in complete silence - either the radio or tv have to be on. Unless Brighton's had a rough day and is finally napping, then I have everything off and lay still to savor the moment.
5. If I'm running (and that's a big if) I either have to run for a mile, mile & a half, or 2 miles, nothing in between (goes back to that even thing - 1, 1.50, 2). I know, I don't run far at all, but oh well.
6. My expressions give me away. If I think something's retarded or dumb, I have a hard time lying about it cause my face says it all.
Ok, that was really hard to list 6 quirks! I know I have a ton but none came to mind. I'm sure y'all could easily list 6 of my quirks, especially my sisters and those of you I lived with for 2 years!

Yeah, there she goes climbing up the slide. She made it to the top but couldn't quite get up the courage to let go of the slide and grab the brown part.
Here are a couple videos that are really meant for the Grandparents only - they're nothing special unless you're a grandparent and then everything is special. The first one is of her growling. Brighton would always grunt when she was a couple months old, and that grunting has turned into growling. The second is of her showing off her object permanence - even though she can't see the paci anymore, she knows it's in the drawer. Then she stands a little. I've been trying to get a video of her standing, but the second she sees the camera she sits down and tries to grab the camera. Really you should only watch the first 30 seconds cause the last 30 seconds are just her playing - I thought she would put the paci back in the drawer but she didn't. Enjoy!

We found out tonight that our next assignment will be to Aviano Italy and we are so excited! I have to confess though, that I'm as equally excited as I am nervous, anxious and a lil bit scared even! On the one hand, I'm up for the adventure and stoked about the awesome experiences we'll be able to have and the amazing travel. On the other hand, it's an ocean away from family and friends and though we'll be able to come back and visit, what things will I have to miss out on cause I'm a bazillion miles away? I guess to make my life easier the rest of you can refrain from getting married, having babies, graduating or that other less pleasant life experience! That would definitely help. But seriously, do I fully understand what I've signed myself up for? Probably not. However, do I think we should have taken a state-side assignment because it would the "safe" thing to do? No. How could I pass up the chance to live in a foreign country? When would I ever have that opportunity again? So, I'm excited, but I'm sure I'll freak out a few times between now and mid-March when we'll probably move. That's normal, right? Well, even if it's not, we'll just pretend that it is.
